Atlantic States Crowned 2009 Champions !
Atlantic States capped a spectacular regular season with a 5-2 victory over Eastern Heating. Atlantic States started out quickly. After singles by Paul Montesanti and Max Jiampetti, Nathan Toms drilled an RBI double for a 1-0 lead. One batter later Anthony Rafferty hit a 2 run double to make it 3-0. Eastern Heating fought back in the bottom of the first with 2 runs of their own to make the score 3-2. The score stayed that way until the 5th inning when Max Jiampetti got his third hit of the game, Nathan Toms followed with his FIRST HOME RUN of the year to make the score 5-2. That was not the end of the night’s highlights as Justin Allisha got his first hit of the year. The pitching duties were handled by Paul Montesanti for the first 2 innings, then Nathan Toms came in and fired 3 1/3 shutout innings, and Max Jiampetti got the final 2 outs to preserve the win!!!
The kids also made several fantastic defensive plays throughout the game. Congratulations to ALL the players and coaches for a fantastic finish to a fantastic season!!!
